High Tech Horned Toad Software is an independent software company from Texas, combining practical engineering with imagination to create software people enjoy and rely on.
Our name
Named for a Texas original
The Texas horned lizard—known to generations of Texans as the “horned toad”—is the official state reptile of Texas. It is small, resourceful, unmistakable, and remarkably tough. We think those are good qualities for a software company, too.
Our mascot carries that spirit: a confident, clever character with a crown of horns and a little Southwestern grit. It is a reminder to build things with personality, persistence, and care.
